President/CEO

  Barbara Zá Franks is a seasoned educator and entrepreneurial leader with over 17 years of experience. Originally from The Bahamas, she began her career as a music teacher and later founded Exuma’s first after-school performing arts academy, Center Stage Performing Arts Studio, achieving notable success in arts education and community engagement. In 2011, Barbara relocated to Shanghai, China, pursuing a graduate degree in education while teaching at Shanghai Pinghe Bilingual School. She contributed significantly to teacher development and professional training during her tenure. Returning to entrepreneurship in 2016, Barbara established Shanghai D.R.E.A.M., focusing on curriculum development and school improvement consulting across China. Joining KnowledgeLink (KL) in 2019 marked a pivotal shift, where Barbara progressed through various leadership roles to become Chief Academic Officer. In 2022, she returned to the Caribbean as Head of School at Omololu International School in Anguilla, simultaneously launching her third venture, D.R.E.A.M. Consulting. Barbara specializes in school management, curriculum design, and educational leadership, providing customized consulting services globally. Her latest endeavor, D.R.E.A.M. Education Solutions, focuses on creating pathways to higher education for international students in Africa, the Caribbean, and beyond. Barbara holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Lynn University, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from American College of Education, and is pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, focusing on leadership behaviors and teacher retention. Passionate about educational excellence and equity, Barbara is dedicated to guiding institutions and educators worldwide to achieve high standards and create impactful learning experiences. Her mission includes expanding access to education regardless of background or socioeconomic status and ensuring all students have opportunities to succeed.

Director of Admissions/Registrar

 Philippa is a seasoned educational leader with over a decade of experience in fostering academic and social development among students. Currently serving as the Director of Admissions and Registrar, Philippa excels in streamlining admissions processes, managing student records, and ensuring compliance with academic policies. Her background in curriculum development, classroom management, and educational leadership equips her with a unique perspective on student needs and institutional requirements. Philippa is dedicated to promoting inclusive education and enhancing the overall student experience through meticulous attention to detail and a passion for educational excellence. 

Director of Academic Partnerships

Prof. Adu is an accomplished Associate Professor at Jiangsu University and Adjunct Professor at the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani. With over 18 years in academia and research, he holds a Master’s in Environmental Science and dual Ph.Ds in Power Engineering/ Thermophysics and Theology (Leadership and Administration). Prof. Adu has held numerous leadership roles including Coordinating Director of the Belt & Road African Sector at Jiangsu University and Secretary of International Affairs at the National Research Centre of Pumps, China. His research focuses on renewable energy, CO2 emissions, environmental and energy management, among others, contributing prolifically to academic journals and authored book chapters. He serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for prestigious journals, and is recognized as a distinguished conference and motivational speaker. Prof. Adu is dedicated to advancing education and sustainability, notably through innovative models aimed at enhancing skills in engineering, technology, and medicine, particularly in developing countries like those in Africa.
